It’s been too long…

Sorry, I went M.I.A for the past five years. Life got crazy. Seems like we use that excuse a lot for things instead of just being honest and saying it wasn’t on my list of priorities. We try to be friendly and cordial when in truth, we are just trying to keep ourselves from looking like an ass. Some agree with me, and others are probably shocked that I came right out and said it. We all know what people mean when they say…Life got busy, or life got crazy. People see what you’re saying when you say stuff like that. Let’s not forget those who don’t talk to you for months on end, then get mad when you don’t return their one call or text. I mean seriously. Do you feel they have the right to be mad when they haven’t talked to you for months? I’m sorry, but your mad card got revoked the minute you decided to push them out of your life.

We are all busy with our lives, but are we truly so busy that we can’t take a few minutes to send a quick text? I don’t mean sending them a book. A quick hi. I hope you’re doing well. We can talk into our watches and send messages, for cryin’ out loud.

I know what some of you are probably thinking…I work all day, come home, and tend to the kids; I have no time for friends or anything. There is always time. I’m not saying you have to go out every weekend, but make plans to get together with your friends once every couple of weeks or so. You won’t regret it. You always think…Oh, there’s tomorrow or next week. Those turn into months and years. Stop making excuses and get together with friends.

I try to get with my friends as much as possible. In fact, I need to get together with one of my closest friends here soon. I had dinner with one last week and am going to have dinner with another one next week. Stop making excuses. If you don’t have time for dinner, meet for coffee at your favorite coffee shop. Go to lunch, get a mani or pedi. Make time for your friends.
