I say eat the piece of cake. Why the hell not? Life is too short to sit back and let sweets and opportunities pass us by. Things go by in the blink of an eye, and you don’t want to be one of the ones sitting on the sidelines saying…I should’ve taken the chance. That goes for anything in life. Want to have a piece of cake, pie, or some ice cream? Splurge! Live a little! The same thing goes for other aspects of your life. Tired of your current situation. Do something about it. Nothing is out of reach. You have to be willing to put forth the effort and hard work that goes along with it. Nothing worthwhile comes easy. The hard work will be well worth it in the end.
I’ve been chasing my dream as an author now for eleven years. Sure, I’ve thought about giving up and throwing in the towel, but what would that prove? That I give up too quickly when things get tough. I don’t give up on things that easily. What if I did give up and I was so close to attaining my dream? That would be gut-wrenching.
Take chances and go the extra mile because you won’t get anywhere being a bystander on the sidelines watching everyone else. Life is far too short. Want to try something new but too scared because you won’t be good at it, or people will judge you for it. Who cares what they think. In the end, it is what makes you happy that matters most. If they are judging you, I’ve got a little secret; they are probably scared of doing something, too. They are haters who are jealous because you dared to go after that dream, new job, or take up a new hobby.
So, yeah, we can have our cake and eat it, too.
