Little Chaotic around here…

I think the title is fitting for this time of year. I know most of you are agreeing with me. Trying to get stuff done for the holiday Thursday among trying to get Christmas shopping done too. Let’s not forget what else the busy holidays bring…Crazy drivers! It’s like they all of sudden forgot how to drive, or they don’t think the rules pertain to them. Guess what people? The rules remain the same no matter the time of year. I think everyone turns into Mayhem during this time of year. Either riding your ass, about to kiss it. If you want to kiss my car that bad, I would be more than happy to pull over and let you kiss it. If you don’t, then back the hell up! You aren’t going to get there any faster by putting the front end of your car up the tail pipe of the car in front of you. Okay, you all know I can go on forever about this subject.

Let’s talk about Thanksgiving and the kind of holiday it is turning out to be. Growing up Thanksgiving was a day to give thanks for everything in your life. Here’s the important thing…People were able to enjoy the holiday with their families. They weren’t worried about rushing out the minute the turkey was done to get the best deals of day. Nothing was opened on Thanksgiving. If I remember correctly even the gas stations were closed that day too. You had to wait until early Friday morning to do your shopping. Thanksgiving is losing it’s meaning in the commercialized mess. Thanksgiving should be a day of reflecting on everything in our lives. Not everything in our lives is good, but we need to be thankful for what we do have. Not worrying about running out to get the best deals.

On to my writing…Dancing With A Stranger is almost DONE! I have maybe another chapter and a half to write. I wanted to have it done before the end of November, but the holiday rush has put a damper on the creative flow. I am still pushing to have it ready for publication in March 2020. It’s the Londyn Carter Series, and there is going to be three maybe four books in the series. I know three books for sure. Then, once I’m done with the series, I will write the sequel to Cursed or Blessed. I will launch Cursed or Blessed again when the second book comes out. I will be revealing my new book cover hopefully, next month before the new year. It’s going to look amazing! I am super excited about it! I need to get some writing done, so I’m going to end it here.

Have a great evening! Thanks for reading!

Weekend…

Okay this has to be some kind of sick joke or something. Let’s screw with Amber all week, and continue it into the weekend. Well, the joke needs to stop. I’m just saying. The week was stressful, and the weekend even more so. Well, the evening was a little better. We went and celebrated with friends on their taking over ownership of a coffee place. Super excited for them! You have to be excited for family and friends when good things happen for them. If you aren’t excited for them, well you need an attitude adjustment. I had the craziest thing happen to me at work on Friday. I honestly didn’t know how to respond to the situation. Family and friends that are super close to me know, I am pretty good on responding to things. How I respond depends on you and your attitude. Let’s be honest we are all like that from time to time. If you say you aren’t like that, then you are lying to yourself. One of the cashiers at work congratulated me on my book making a best seller list on Amazon.(She didn’t mention the list) I told her thank you, but that my book had already started to fall off. I told her that was okay because I made it. I was actually there. Well, the customer was asking me what was going on and where had I been. I told the customer my book made the list. They looked at me with a condescending smile and proceeded to say…Hmm. The kind that lets you know they don’t believe a word you just said. I was flabbergasted. How rude can you get? I would never do that. Truly speechless. Onto talking about Dancing With A Stranger!

I’m finishing up the first draft of Dancing With A Stranger to the Londyn Carter series. I will start on the first chapter revisions while my editor finishes editing the rest of my book. Most of the first couple chapters are going to be chopped off or completely rewritten to fit the story line better. You have to be willing to chop up your story to make it flow better with the rest of it. Revisions is a hard part of the writing process. Sometimes we have to take our book and rip her apart. If it isn’t relevant to the story, then it needs to go. Chop that Bitch out of there! Well, I need to get back to writing on it. I wanted to let you know I hadn’t fell off the wagon.

From this moment on I’m going to blog every couple of days. I think I will be able to keep up with it better that way. Also, I’m going to be starting my monthly newsletter up soon. If you want to keep up to date on my books and when they will be released or go on sale go to my books page and sign up at the bottom of the page. Have a great rest of your night! Thanks for reading!

Great Weekend…

This has been a great weekend! It started with my 18-year-old coming home from college. I got to spend some time with him and his older brother Friday night after the high school football game. The next day I went to that wonderful day thing again. And yes, Christmas rush is upon us already. It gets earlier and earlier each year. Christmas rush brings more than just busy retail stores it brings…Idiot Drivers! You all know what I’m talking about. Don’t sit over there and act all innocent like you don’t have any idea what I’m talking about. You’ve seen them out there. The drivers that cut you off, ride your ass like Zorro down the road, and the ones that want to get hit. Two different instances today, people were literally inches away from the other car when they decided to pull out into traffic. One was busy eating her damn ice cream cone and wasn’t paying attention, crossing in front of another vehicle. You are damn lucky you didn’t end up wearing that cone. Mayhem wasn’t tailgating your ass to where you had to pull that stupid stunt. Enough about the lady and her ice cream cone.

Now, for the Big News! I’m not going to lie, I was rather shocked when I found out. I thought it was a mistake at first. LOL Cursed or Blessed hit the BEST SELLERS List in Teen & Young Adult Emotions & Feelings Category this weekend! I am super excited! I sat there, staring at my computer for a few minutes last night to make sure it wasn’t going to disappear. It gets my name out there more. Being a new author requires a lot of hard work to get you and your book out there. I have been promoting like crazy, when taking a break from writing Dancing With A Stranger. Never give up! I honestly thought I had been doing something wrong, then seeing my book on the best sellers list was a great surprise. Sometimes, you have to step out of your comfort zone and go after something you truly want. You have to be willing to put in the effort and hard work it takes to get where you want to be. If you don’t get there, then the fault lands on you and you alone. No one is to blame because you didn’t want to put forth the effort.

Have a great evening! Thanks for reading!

My Bad…

Oh. My. Gosh. I completely fell off the blog wagon and it left me in the dust, while I desperately tried running after it and kept falling flat on my face. I’ve had a lot to deal with the past few weeks. Most of it being work related, and I’m not going to bore you with the details. Well, I’m back and ready to ramble on about anything and everything. I warn you in the coming months a lot of it will be about dealing with “Christmas Rush” at work. What a perfect time to start this back up and keep it going. (Insert evil laugh) This is going to be a short blog today because I have to get ready for work here in a few minutes. That’s right, the day thing I have to go to until my writing career takes off…And it will. I know that sounds a little cocky and arrogant but if you don’t believe in yourself, then who will. You are your biggest cheerleader, NO ONE ELSE! You have to be excited about what you are doing, or no one else will be either. Then again, not everyone is going to like your enthusiasm. Those people need to keep on moving by. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life. Bye Felicia!

Now, onto my writing! That’s right! I can proudly say that I am almost done with writing the first draft. You ask how do I know that I’m almost done? Well, I am eager to hurry up and get to the end, which let’s me know it’s almost done. The storyline is moving smoothly, and my character found out the life she knew has been based on a lie. Not, just a portion of her life, but the whole thing. Could you imagine, realizing your entire life is a lie? I have probably another two chapters to write, then it will be FINISHED! I am pushing to have it done by the end of this month and then, I will start right in on revisions. The first few chapters are going to be combined into one. Yeah, it drags and with that being said…It needs to go! Then, once the revisions are done, I will start in on writing book number two of the series. UGH! I have to think of another title. Well, no time to think about that now. I need to get ready for work.

Not much going on…

What can I say except there isn’t much going on right now. Pretty boring compared to the past few weeks. Most things have calmed down around here. As for me, I’ve been sick with a kidney infection since Sunday morning. Came home early from work on Monday because of it. I am feeling a little better today, since starting antibiotics. Onto writing….

I handed off chapters 12-17 of Dancing With A Stranger to my editor, and I got a chapter back from her. And no, I didn’t look at it. That is one of my rules. I never look at edits until the first draft is written. Normally, I would take a few weeks off before starting on edits, but I am running out of time. Also, I need to get going on the second book in the series. I have a positive feeling about this series. I am close to writing the synopsis for this book. There is no rest for an author. If we aren’t writing, we are revising, or thinking of new ideas for future books.

Have a Great Night! Thanks for reading!

Good day…

Well, I must say today was rather a good day! I spent most of the day with my hubby and oldest son. We went down to the Fall Festival where we proceeded to stand in line for the HUGE halfpot drawing. Yes, we helped contribute to the winner, along with most of the city. We walked up and down the street once, then decided to go get Endless Shrimp. I know, I know. How dare we leave festival food for Endless Shrimp. Well, we did. Hubby and I went to celebrated our anniversary a week early because we will be up visiting our 18-year-old on our actual anniversary.

I am not going to lie. I struggled with writing on Dancing With A Stranger today. My back was hurting, so I thought writing in bed would be better. Yeah, no. I got distracted more back here. There is always tomorrow. I learned something new about today. Apparently, it was Happy Indie Author Day today. Happy Indie Author Day to all my fellow Indie Authors out there. Hope your day was great. I have to wait a few more days before I can lower the ebook price of Cursed or Blessed. I have to wait 14 days after a promo. The 14 days will be up in a few days. I am still pushing to have Dancing With A Stranger ready for publication around February. I need to get my chapters to my editor. Hopefully, I will be able to get them to her in the next few days. This will give me chance to finish chapter 17 and print it out too.

Well, I am getting tired. I hope you all have a great Sunday tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

What can I say…

What can I say, except that I suck! Didn’t I say, I was going to do better about keeping up with my blog. Yeah, apparently that was a big ass lie. Again, I apologize for up and leaving my blog in the dust. I am going to strive to do better in keeping my blog up to date. Now, that I got the groveling done and out of the way. Needless to say, it has been crazy around here since the last time I wrote on here. I won’t bore you with the details, but the shit show took on a whole new level of craziness. I am coping with the craziness, some days are better than others. The stress from the craziness has brought on a little bit of a writer’s block. Not a full-blown writer’s block, but I’m having a hard time staying focused on the task at hand. I will work my way through it. Let’s move on to my writing!

Dancing With A Stranger is moving along at a slow pace right now. I am off the next four days so hopefully, I will be able to get some more writing done throughout these few days. I am almost done with writing chapter 17. I think this book might be between 23-24 chapters. I haven’t yet decided since this is the first book in the series. Once, I’m done writing this series, I will go back and write the sequel to Cursed or Blessed. That was a surprise to be honest. I hadn’t intended to make it into two books. I’m rather glad, I get to go be part of that world again. I really enjoyed being with those characters in that book. Well, I should go write a little bit more on chapter 17 before calling it a night. I have to get up early in the morning.

Again, sorry for not blogging this whole time. Have a great night! Thanks for reading!

And it keeps going…

Seriously, whatever is in the air needs to dry up already! The show is still continuing, and well the end needs to hurry up and get its ass here. I’m talking about the never-ending shit show. I must say, I’m not sad to see September go at all. It wasn’t a great month, and I’m glad it’s gone. Let’s hope October is a better month. It’s already starting off on a good note with 31 nights of Halloween on Freeform. Watching my favorite Halloween movie while writing on Dancing With A Stranger. Who doesn’t love Hocus Pocus? If you say you don’t like it, well then, I’m sorry we can’t be friends. Love this movie! Can’t wait for cooler weather, so I can wear my Hocus Pocus sweatshirt.

Onto writing news…Dancing With A Stranger has hit over 62K words and still going. I’m almost done with writing chapter 16. I think this book will be about twenty-three chapters once it’s done. After revisions, it will probably be about 21 chapters. I have to cut some drastic boring parts from it. If it doesn’t serve a purpose or move the story along, then it needs to be cut. Plain and Simple. Well, I need to get back to writing for a little bit longer.

Have a great night! Thanks for reading!

Better day…

Well, this has been a better day compared to yesterday. It wasn’t quite such a shit show like yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining one bit. Today was definitely calmer than yesterday. I managed to get some writing done on chapter 16 on the way up to my mom’s house. We got up here a little earlier than anticipated, which was a welcome surprised for her. She out did herself on dinner, it was amazing and we are all full. She made meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and roasted carrots. It was EXCELLENT! Thanks, Mom.

On to my writing… Like I said earlier, I managed to get some writing done on chapter 16 of Dancing With A Stranger. I am off this coming week so hopefully, I should get a lot of writing done on my book. The book cover is already in the works. It’s going to be amazing. Once it’s done and my book is released, I will let you all know who made the book cover for me. For right now, it’s a secret. Sorry. I hope to get going on writing the second book in the series as soon as Dancing With A Stranger is released. Thank you to everyone who has bought and enjoyed Cursed or Blessed. I hope you like this new series just as much.

Have a great night! Thanks for reading!

What a day…

I woke up this morning, thinking it was going to be a great day. Yeah, I should’ve kept my ass in bed. Today was far from great. Today was what I would call a Bona fide shit show. It was the kinda day where you wonder why you got out of bed. If it could’ve happened it did or came close to happening. Now, I want a Dr. Pepper and my child has turned into the parent telling me no, I don’t need it. She told me to eat something healthy. I don’t want healthy, I want a sugary drink that is bad for me. Every now and then, you need something that isn’t healthy to eat or drink.

I did manage to finish writing chapter 15 of Dancing With A Stranger. Chapter 16 was started tonight but unfortunately I didn’t get too far on writing it. I am still working on the new storyline, and hope to have it straightened out soon. I am super excited about this series. Sorry for the short blog tonight, but I am suffering from a killer headache tonight.

Everyone have a great night and day tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
